More Than Words

What the Scripture really says
I’ll sing it so you can see
Not religion but life

Joshua one says no one will stand in my way
Not one day of my life You’re with me I’m okay
Just like You were with Moses You will be with me
You won’t let me fall through You stay You don’t leave

You don’t turn Your face away when my strength is gone
When I lose my direction You keep holding on
When the world gets louder You stay steady and clear
And I feel it in my bones Your Word is real You’re here

Psalm twenty two says our fathers cried out loud
They trusted You and You answered You never turned them down
They screamed to You and You rescued them from shame
They hoped in You and they weren’t put to blame

So when I cry out now I’m crying like they did
Because who You were back then is who You are still
The same faithful Father the same mighty hand
And I stand on Your promise when I can’t even stand

Second John says grace and mercy and peace
Will be given to us and it won’t ever cease
From the Father in heaven from Jesus the Son
Because truth and love hold us together as one

Grace mercy and peace like a river it flows
Not a mood not a moment it comes from Your throne
We stay in the truth we stay in the love
It’s written forever so I sing from the depths

First John four we have come to know
And we have believed the love You showed
For You are Love and whoever stays in Love
Stays in You and You stay in us

We love because You first loved us that’s the start
That’s why the broken places still beat in my heart
I didn’t begin this I wasn’t the one
You found me in pieces and You called me son

Psalm nine says I rejoice in You
I’ll sing to Your Name I’ll remember You
I praise You Most High my light in the night
And when darkness closes in I don’t lose sight

I’ll rejoice in You not only when I’m strong
When my knees are shaking You keep me going on
You are the Highest Your Name is still great
And when I start singing fear starts to break

Without turning back the inside stays the same

Come back come to your senses it isn’t attack
It’s Love calling loudly trying to bring you back
He doesn’t call you to crush you to make you feel small
He calls you to breathe again to live to stand tall

Psalm one oh five give thanks proclaim His Name
Tell the nations what He’s done declare His fame
Make His Name known lift it high in the land
So every heart remembers He is near He understands

Ephesians five says don’t stay hard headed
Understand what the Lord desires don’t live distracted
Not stubborn not numb but awake and made whole
So your life won’t be empty but carried with soul

Not hardened but open to truth and to light
Not cold but softened in mercy tonight
When you learn what He wants you find who you are
And you come back together when the world falls apart

It’s You
